In this hand-out photograph from 2018, Queen Máxima is wearing the Dutch Sapphire Tiara with the matching brooch, bracelet and earrings from the parure. She is also wearing her royal order.
I thought you’d like to see this gorgeous sapphire and diamond tiara and accompanying hair ornament, circa 1840s. It belonged to an unnamed European Noble Family.
The tiara, in the shape of forget-me-nots and anemones, is set with oval and cushion-shaped sapphires and surrounded by circular-cut and cushion-shaped diamonds. The matching hair ornament can also be worn as a pendant. The set was sold by Sotheby’s in 2017 for $240,716.
